Like all backbends, Dhanurasana (The Bow) helps to improve posture by lifting the chest. It also stretches the quads, strengthens and rejuvenates the lumbar and thoracic sections of your spine, and works on your shoulder and arm muscles. It is good for improving your digestion and appetite. Like other backbends this pose is guaranteed to wake you up a little so it isn’t recommended before bedtime!
